April MFTeaser .....and a sketch!!!

Sorry I'm late this morning.....had a bit of a sleepy start!! But I'm on my second cuppa joe, so I should be okay now!!! I also had to take a bunch of photos of my weekend creations and it's rather bleak and overcast here in Ontario, so I had to fiddle with them a bit in Photoshop!!

Anyhoooooo...here is my first Teaser for a new My Favorite Things set called Happy Mother's Day! Easy enough name to remember, right?? It's this perfect mini set, just right for making M-Day cards and gifts, but also for any women in your life that you just want to say thanks to. It comes with the main focal image, already framed with a lovely sentiment that runs all the way around the outside, which you can stamp all in one piece, or trim off the outside frame and use just the image. Then there is the little floral photo corner stamp that I just LOVE....so purty!!! And the sentiment, Have a Wonderful Mother's Day!!

I stamped the main square on Wausau bright white cardstock and coloured it in using my Copic markers and my jump off point was actually a piece of the Ginger Blossom SU dp! I didn't end up using that particular piece, but it was my inspiration! (**Also yesterday I was asked which Copic I used for skin colour on my images. I almost always use E00 which is called Skin White.) The card base is regular size in Ruby Red and the patterned paper is another piece from the Ginger Blossom pack and I stamped the photo corners on top of it and coloured them in using my Copics. I added a scalloped Groovy Guava piece at the bottom and don't you LOVE the flowers at the bottom?? The middle one is a Prima Fancy satin flower but the back one is actually a white Magenta flower. Don'tcha wanna know how I make it all polka dotted like that??? Well, you'll have to wait until the Release Party to find out!!!

Also, I used today's MFT Sketch Challenge of the week for this card!!!! Be sure to head over to SCS and check out MFTSC24. It's nice and easy and perfect for any set with a square focal image!

This set, along with another great set and another set of digital paper, will be released on Wednesday night!!! We will be having another awesome Cocktail Party, full of yakkin' and stampin' and you can even find out how to become the next MFT Guest Designer!!! Woohoo!! So be sure to save Wednesday night on your calendar....all the fun starts over at SCS in the MFT Forum at 9pm EST!!

Stampy Sunday!!

I'm back with a card!! We just finished up feeding the herd pancakes and eggs and then cleaning up the kitchen. They are all laying on the living room floor playing Guitar Hero again!!!

Here is a card I made for the Magnolia Design Team and it is making it's way, along with several others, to Sweden. The card base, which is a nice soft yellow, is 6x6 and is one of the ones sent to me by Magnolia along with the desinger paper, which has lots of pretty colours in it. I added some Soft Sky which I stamped with one of the Magnolia flowers and also some Pumpkin Pie which I stamped with the Magnolia row of hearts stamp. I used my Nesties for the main focal image and some Ruby Red for the scalloped oval. I also added some SU buttons and some Michael's ribbon which matches the Soft Sky. I coloured Tilda with my Copics, pop dotted her and added some Stardust Stickles!!

Now, I hope to ship all the teeny-boppers out soon, so I can get down to some serious stampin'........and maybe a nap!!!

Happy Sunday!!!

A Night to Remember!!

That's my gorgeous SIXTEEN year old daughter!!! Aaaghhh!!!

Well, I survived. I'm rather bleary eyed and still tired, but I made it through the night! I'm sure I'll be having a nap later on today after they all leave, but that's okay. It was a lot of fun!

And let me warn you now, this post is all Sweet Sixteen party pictures, so if you came here for a stampin' creation, I'll be posting one later!!

Okay, so last night we all met at the restaurant for dinner. It was Emileigh's choice and she chose East Side Mario's. My parents came all the way from Wallaceburg too, at their favourite granddaughter's request!! Here is a pic of Mom and I:

Dinner was fabulous and the girls were hilarious, posing every time I pulled out the camera!

We told the waitress that it was Emileigh's 16th birthday, so after dinner a bunch of the staff came out and made her stand on her chair while they sang Happy Birthday to her for the whole restaurant to hear!! She was such a good sport!!

We came back to the house and did the present thing and.......more pictures!! Aren't they beautiful...........

........and silly!!!

They played Guitar Hero on the Playstation for a LOOOOOOOOONG time, then we had some yummy birthday cake!!

Then Al and I took off to other parts of the house to do our own thing and left the girls to hang out. They played MORE Guitar Hero, watched movies and laughed and yakked until the late-early morning hours. Let's just say I woke up at 4:30am and they were still laughing down there. I just went down to make myself some coffee and they are all asleep in their sleeping bags in a row on the living room floor. Aaaahhhh....so peaceful! They'll be like that until at least noon and then the madness will begin again while we make breakfast!!!

But it was fabulous and I know Emileigh had a super time with all her best friends!! A night to remember!!

Tilda and her Horse!!

Well, I WOULD have slept in this morning but my dog starts barking at the slightest sound and this morning she heard my father-in-law dropping some Michael's coupons in my mailbox!! Yaaaaaaaay!! and Booooooooo for waking up!!

I've already put a load of laundry in and started the dishwasher. Now I need to work on the vacuuming and the bathrooms. Emileigh's party is tonight and we'll have a house full of teenage girls.....I'm thinking that I'll need to sleep in tomorrow morning too!!! Haha!!

Today's card features two stamps that I inked up for the first time last week!! I love Tilda with her little heart sweater on and I coloured her hair dark again. This horse stamp is SO cute and I wanted to make him look like a palomino and I think he turned out pretty well. The colours are taken from the patterned paper that I picked up in Florida. It is by American Crafts and conveniently enough, the line is called Best Friends! I did some faux stitching around the main part and doodled around the horse. The hearts are cut from some of the coordinating dp and I added some rhinestones for the bling factor. I tied some River Rock stitched grosgrain ribbon around the middle and dangled a puffy metal heart from it. The final touch is the sparkle and I used my Stardust Sakura gel pen all over! I sparkled her wings, her sweater and all over the horse's mane and tail which I think you can see pretty well in the photo. And of course, everything is pop dotted!!

Well, I hope I get to do some stamping today in between all my house chores....ick! Have a wonderful weekend!!!

Maybe Baby....

This is gonna be a quickie this morning..........a quickie POST, people....get your minds outta the gutter!!! I'm shocked!! *giggle* I'm off to work all day today but then I have the weekend off. And it's a good thing because it's Emileigh's par-tay and sleepover, so that's gonna wear me out!!! And I have a TON of Design Team stuff to get busy working on!!! Yikes!!

Today's card is one I whipped up a week or so ago using Tilda and Love Rice....well, that's what they call it....I don't make these things up ya know!! It reminds me of Emileigh when she was a flower girl at three years old!!! So cute! And I used the Maybe Baby dp from Daisy D's. The sentiment is one by Hero Arts and I added some Prima hydrangeas with a rhinestone brad! Oh and those rhinestone hearts are from Daisy D's too! The little hearts are all sparkly from my Sakura Stardust gel pen.

Well, I told you it was a quickie!!! Gotta run!! Have a spectacular Friday!!!

Sweet Sixteen!!!

My baby is 16 years old today!!! It's such an exciting day!! She is so beautiful and so grown up!!! We were laughing this morning while she was getting ready for school. I was joking and asking where my baby went....where is she??? She's gone!!! As you might remember, my husband works nights driving truck so it's always a guess whether he will be home before she goes to school or not, but this morning he was able to get back and see her! We gave her a gorgeous white gold ring with a heart shaped pink sapphire in it and she LOVES it!!!! Whew!! She couldn't wait to show the girls at school!!

Here is the card I made for her!!! Since she will be learning to drive now (my gosh, can that be right?), I used my Elzybell in her Car stamp!! I thought pink and black would be a cute colour scheme for it too! I don't know if you can tell, but I used my new Clear Spica gel pen from MFT all over it and it's SO sparkly!!

This is a picture of Emileigh one day when she was in the yard at our old house riding her BICYCLE!!! Isn't she so adorable!!! She liked pink even then, as you can see!! And now she'll be driving a MOTOR VEHICLE..........aaack!!!

For her birthday, we are taking 5 of her girlfriends and my parents to a nice restaurant on Saturday night to celebrate and then the girls are coming back here to sleep over. They are excited to get dressed up for dinner, so I'll be sure to take lots of pics and post some next week.

Now Emileigh is to get all the credit for her invitations. They were totally her design and colour choices!! She knew that she wanted to have pocket cards and she chose the Basic Grey papers to use......she's got good taste, what can I say??? We used the Tres Jolie set by Lizzie Anne Designs and the invitation stamp is by SU. The girls thought they were 'awesome'!

So although I feel old today.........and I feel as though my own sixteenth birthday was not so long ago.....I'm so excited for Emileigh!! I'm proud of the young lady she is becoming and I'm thrilled to watch her grow and mature! No matter how old she gets, she will still be my baby.....and my best friend.

Hug your babies today and tell them how much you love them!!! Oh and stamp them something too!!! Hahahaha!

A Happy Life......

I guess I'm still stuck on the 'Creatures Great and Small' kick!!! I've discovered that lots of my stamps have little creatures in them.....and this one is no different!

When I went to Petrolia last week for lunch with the girls and went to Phebe's store, I picked up a few stamps (really....only a few because I'm trying to stay on a budget). I just now realized that every image I bought has a little creature on it!! Guess I like cute critters or something!!!

This card features a new Whipper Snapper stamp that I love!!! It's called Birdhouse in Flowerpot and I think it's just too adorable. I've seen that birds are all the rage right now, but I don't have very many bird images. Hmmmm. What should I do about that?? *giggle*

I stamped the image on Wausau bright white using Archival Brilliance Graphite Black ink and coloured it with my Copics. The patterned paper I used is from the White Out Collection by We R Memory Keepers. I used Bashful Blue for the square card base and matted the main image on So Saffron and Ruby Red. I used my distressing tool on the strip of dp across the middle and added some striped grosgrain ribbon. I pop dotted the main image after I used my ticket punch on the corners and finished it off with some blue brads. The sentiment is one of my favourites from Papertrey Ink.

Well, today I am working the afternoon/evening shift from 1-8:30pm and I have to work on a birthday card for Emileigh this morning.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!!!

All Creatures Great and Small....

All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful
The Lord God made them all.

Each little flower that opens,
Each little bird that sings,
God made their glowing colors,
and made their tiny wings.

The purple-headed mountains,
The river running by,
The sunset and the morning
That brightens up the sky.

The cold wind in the winter,
The pleasant summer sun,
The ripe fruits in the garden,
God made them every one.

God gave us eyes to see them,
And lips that we might tell,
How great is God Almighty,
Who has made all things well.

All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful
The Lord God made them all.

That's one of my favourite hymns. And I've been singing it for the last several days!!! Very appropriate since it is springtime.....well, technically, anyway. The reason it got stuck in my head is because the Cute Card Challenge theme this week is 'All Creatures Great and Small'. So we had to make a 'cute' card (good thing, since cute cards are my favourite) with some sort of animal or creature on it! Well, since I've only inked up Tilda and her little birdie once before, I figured it was time for her to come out and play again!!!

This time I stamped the image on Wausau bright white cardstock using Archival Brilliance Graphite Black ink and coloured her in using my Copic markers. The colours are taken from the dp which is from the DCWV Nana's Nursery Baby Boy stack. I really loved the blues, greens and purples in this paper. The striped dp is covered in sparkles just like Tilda's little wings which I covered in Diamond Stickles. Also instead of shading around her using the lightest gray marker, I chose instead to use a very light lavender colour. You can barely see it in the photo, but trust me, it's there and it goes really well with the colouring of the card. The card base is Taken with Teal and I also used So Saffron, Certainly Celery and Lavender Lace. I added some white taffeta ribbon, two glittery heart foam stickers and I also used my mat pack on the corners and the scalloped circle. I used several circle punches for the sentiment piece and I used my go-to MFT set, Essential Sentiments for the sentiment layer. You like???

Fabulous Flowers!!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend and got to spend some quality time with family!! We had my in-laws over for dinner on Saturday night and then yesterday we met my parents and my brother's family at Montana's for a lovely Easter lunch. It was lots of fun and the food was deeee-lish!!

My parents just celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary but I hadn't seen them together to give them their card until yesterday. I got the Fabulous Flowers stamp set by Stampin' Up a while back with this card in mind to give them on their anniversary. Well, not this card exactly but I have seen so many gorgeous creations using this set on SCS, that I knew I had to design something elegant using the big flower for them.

I stamped the big flower twice using Almost Amethyst on Whisper White cardstock and I stamped one of the smaller flowers too. I cut them all out leaving a little white around the edges and I cut one of the big flowers down a bit too. I used the Dazzling Diamond Dust technique on all the flowers and made them all sparkly!! The card base is a white square with Almost Amethyst as matting underneath the soft and pretty dp which is by Karen Neuberger. I used the ticket corner punch on the corners and used some String of Pearls Bellas Baubles in the corners and also in the middle of the smallest flower. I used some SU white taffeta ribbon (LOVE the taffeta ribbon) and a sparkly buckle. I stamped the sentiment from the Hugs and Wishes SU set and popped up all the layers on the flower! I really think they liked it.....well, Mom did anyway!! Men just don't get it, right?!! Hahaha!

This second card is one I did for my brother's family, especially Matthew who is 4 years old! I knew he would like the bunny with the big ears! It's a very simple design, but cute all the same, I think! I used the My Favorite Things set called Eggstra Special Easter!!

Well, I have today off and so does Emileigh so I told her I'd take her shopping for a new outfit to wear on Saturday night. She will be turning SIXTEEN this week.....good grief!!! It's just not right, I tell ya!! Wasn't it just the other day that I turned 16?? I'm sure it was......MOM? Help me out.....it WAS just yesterday, right??? I don't know how I'm going to deal with this. It might be a tough week for me. We were just talking yesterday about Easters back when she was 3 or 4. We used to hide all the Easter eggs and candy and she would go around with her little basket and find everything. Then she'd make us hide everything again, so that she could go find it all again. It was one of her favourite games and we'd do it 3 or 4 times before she'd get tired of it. SO cute.

Ugh. Okay. I'm officially depressed. Hahahaha! I'm really not old enough to have a 16 year old, am I? I didn't think so.

Here's the Scoop!!!

Here's the scoop.........I gotta work today. Poo. It would have been a nice long weekend, but.....I gotta work. 9-5pm. So no stampin' for me today.

But I do have a card to show you! I made this one for a special request again using Ice Cream for Two and Here's the Scoop sentiment. It's pretty self-explanatory. The plaid dp I used is from the DCWV Spring Gliter Stack and the card base is a Chocolate Chip square. I used my Copics to colour him in, added some square brads from the $ store and tied on some SU satin ribbon.

I hope those of you who are planning to do an Easter Egg Hunt today have better weather than we do here. I'm afraid the little bunnies in Ontario are going to have to wear their winter coats and hats and mitts this year!!

Have a great day, whatever you may do!!

What a Day!!!

I'll post the picture of my card first, before I get into the fun we had yesterday!!! I whipped up this card with some leftover dp I had on my table from another card I had worked on. I like to stamp several copies of an image when I stamp, so that I have extras in case I mess the first one up! So I have lots of extra images floating around my desk (which is in desperate need of tidying, by the way). I picked up this copy of Tilda in her Heart Dress and coloured her in with my Copics to match the sparkly patterned paper which is from the DCWV Nana's Nursery Stack. I used Cameo Coral for the card base and the strip in the middle, added glittery brads and some Hydrangea Primas. It's a very simple layout, but sometimes that's all that is needed! I made this card for a fellow Magnolia DT member's challenge on her blog. Bea is from Germany and her challenge is to make a card using 'Rosa' which I believe is pink and also to use flowers. I went with coral instead of pink, but I hope it still counts!!

Someone asked me yesterday where I get all my Prima flowers. I often pick them up at the local scrapbooking stores but most of my Hydrangeas (which are my favourite) I got at Scrappin' Great Deals. Sheila is so kind and generous and there is SO much to choose from in her store!!! Head on over there and have a look, why don'tcha!?

Okay, now on to yesterday's fun!!! I left town about 10am and after stopping to get gas, I plugged in a Janet Evanovich book on cd and started my journey to Petrolia! It was a nice drive and even though it was super cold, the shine was shining! I arrived a little bit early and went straight over to Phebe's store! I thought I would be the first one there, but Bonnie and Marcie beat me to it!!! Hahaha!!! They were already inside shopping with Marcie's little guy, Jake in the stroller! Bonnie and I have already had lunch together but it was nice to finally meet Marcie! You'll have to head over and check out their blogs if you haven't already!!

WELL! You should SEE all the awesome new things that Phebe has in the store!!!! New My Favorite Things, New Hanna Stamps, lots of New Whipper Snappers!!! AH! We were in heaven! She has lots of new Prima Flowers, great inks and glitters! The newest edition to her store though, is the new line of High Hopes stamps and they are all on EZmount all ready to be stamped!!! Woohoooooo!!! And she has some great specials on to celebrate National Craft Month, so be sure to give her a call or email her for all the details!!! SO I picked up a few things before heading over to Actors for lunch!

BONNIE, JAKE and MARCIE

It was so fabulous to put some more faces to names at lunch today!! A lady named Lin came all the way from Chatham to join us and Maria came right over from Sarnia after work! Also my Mom came from Wallaceburg and brought Connie and Irene. And of course there was Phebe and Ellen, the owner of Actors!

MARIA and CONNIE

It is always such a riot to get together with ladies that have the same addiction......I mean PASSION as me! We share tips and ideas and where to buy certain products. It's wonderful!! And we just laugh and have a great time! The food, as ALWAYS, is AWESOME!! This time I tried something different and had the grilled chicken breast on a toasted bun with fries and it was superb!!! I think I'll have that again next time!!!! Heehee!!

CONNIE, DIANA, IRENE and PHEBE

After we stuffed ourselves with yummy food, we headed over to the store (some of us, for the second time....hehe). Everyone was dizzy with rubber-induced excitement at all the new stamps in the store!!! We can never go home empty handed from The Town Scrapper!!! I came home with some Prima Fancies, a couple of Riley the Moose stamps and of course, some new Whipper Snappers!!! I also, discovered some new Robin's Nest Dew Drops in my bag when I got home. Now either some generous soul named Phebe, snuck them into my bag or I shoplifted some in my stamp haze!!!! I'm hoping it was the former one........THANK YOU PHEBE!!!!

CONNIE, ME, IRENE and PHEBE

I drove home thinking how blessed I am to have such wonderful friends and family!!! I'm so thankful to have this 'hobby' that has brought me these amazing friendships!! And I can't wait to do it again next month!! See you then, girls!!!

Bright and Shiny Tilda!!

This morning's post will be short and sweet as I am getting ready to head to Petrolia! A bunch of ladies are meeting at Actors for lunch and a get together and then we are heading over to Phebe's store, The Town Scrapper to see what new things she has in the store! I happen to know she has new Whipper Snappers, new Stampendous, she's got My Favorite Things, Hanna Stamps, lots of paper and new embellishments!! I can't wait!!

This little card was made using Tilda in her Boots and I used my Copics to colour her in. I made sure that she was bright and springy as I need that right now. The snow is finally melting but not nearly quick enough for me!! The card is pretty self-explanatory but the dp is by EKSuccess and I made the scalloped edge using my slit punch. I added some Prima hydrangeas, brads, stickles and the sentiment is by Papertrey.

Have a wonderful day!!!

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww...nuts!!!

I just can't stop playin' with those new High Hopes stamps!! All the jungle animals are just so cute! This card was made for a special request from Phebe, so I will be giving it to her tomorrow when we meet up for lunch!!

I started by stamping Ellie on Wausau white cardstock using Archival Brilliance Graphite Black ink and coloured her in using my Copics. Instead of just boring old grey, I used a couple of different pale lavender markers for Ellie. I then used the Copic that matches So Saffron on the bow and the one that matches Wild Wasabi for the grass. I stamped the sentiment in the upper left corner and then stamped, coloured and cut out the bag of peanuts to add to it.

I broke open a new package of Uptown patterned paper by SU and used two different patterns. The card base is 6x6 in textured grey cardstock and for matting I used Wild Wasabi, So Saffron and Almost Amethyst. I used some striped WW ribbon and pop dotted Ellie!!

Well, it's a very rainy day here in St. Thomas.....a perfect day to stay in and stamp, don't you agree?? Hahaha!! I do have to work tonight but then I'm off until Saturday! Yippeeeeeee!

Special MFT Announcement!!!

We interrupt your regularly scheduled blog hopping and card ogling, to bring you this special announcement!!! In order to properly celebrate National Craft Month, Kim from My Favorite Things has a special for you....yes YOU!!! This promotion is good from NOW until midnight on Thursday, March 20th!!! Follow this link to get ALL the details!!! Go........run...........shop......stamp!!!!!

Soft and Sweet!!!

When I was playing around in my craft room on the weekend, I pulled out this lovely paper by Karen Neuberger (don't ask me where I got it, I haven't got a clue!) and it just looked so soft and pretty! I hadn't played with this new Tilda stamp yet or that cute little snail, so I put them all together!!!

I stamped the new Kitchen Bench first on Wausau bright white cardstock using Archival Brilliance Graphite Black ink and coloured it in using my copic markers. I stamped Tilda and the snail separately and coloured them too, then cut them out. I attached them to the base and shaded around each piece. I matted the whole thing on Soft Sky and the card base is an Almost Amethyst square. Since the focal image is so large and I really wanted the pretty paper to show, I used little in the way of embellishments. I only added some Prima flowers and attached them with some frosted brads by Creative Cafe that I picked up in Florida, while shopping with Kim. Then sentiment is from the Faux Ribbon set by Papertrey. Of course, I added Stardust Stickles to her wings. When I look at it, I just feel peaceful. I hope you have a very peaceful day!!

P.S. For those ladies who are local, don't forget to let me know if you will be joining us for an afternoon of yummy food and stamp shopping!! We will be meeting in Petrolia for lunch at Actors at noon!! Hope you can make it!!!

Watercoloured Tilda!!

Okay, so you all know that when it comes to watercolouring, I'm no Sophia and I'm no Claudia, that's for sure!!! I mean, these girls are pros and I simply drool when I check out their blogs every day!

I enjoy colouring with my Copics and my SU markers but watercolouring is not something that I've picked up right away and I just haven't really had time to sit down and practice. So this weekend, when I had a little extra time, I thought I would give it a whirl again. Now, it's definitely not a masterpiece, but I actually think it turned out pretty well! I hope you like it too!

I stamped Tilda and her little Bird on SU watercolour paper in Archival Versafine Black Onyx ink. Then I used a watercolour brush along with SU reinkers and water to colour her in. The dp is Sweet Pea by Fancy Pants and I took the colours from the paper. I used Close to Cocoa in her hair, Pretty in pink for her wings and cheeks, Blush Blossom for her skin, Bashful Blue for her sweater, Certainly Celery for her skirt, grass and bird, Creamy Caramel for her boots and So Saffron for her socks and blending around her. I drew in the grass with a black pen too. It's not perfect, but I think I'm getting there.

SU watercolour paper is fantastic! It's nice and thick and takes the water and ink very well. The only thing I don't like about it is that it's not white. It's creamy and I would really like to find a bright white watercolour paper of the same quality. Anyone have any tips??? Anyone know of such a paper??

I ran the bottom piece of dp through my Cuttlebug using the D'vine Swirls embossing folder and added some pink taffeta ribbon. I attached the Prima flowers with a large fancy snap by Making Memories and put three pink SU brads in the corner. The sentiment is from Rain or Shine by My Favorite Things and I finished her off by adding Stardust Stickles to her wings and pop dotted the whole focal piece. Not bad, I think.

Oh and I suppose you'd like to know who won the Bunny Tilda???? Well there were 10 lovely entries for the sketch challenge and the random winner is..............LEONIE!!! Yaaaaaaaaaay!!! Please email me with your mailing address and I will get that in the mail to you!

Flowers from Edwin!

I had the whole day off yesterday......yeehaw!! And I played with a couple of new Magnolia stamps! Here is one using Shy Edwin!

This little guy hadn't even been out of this package yet.....don'tcha love playing with NEW stuff?? I made this one with two challenges in mind! The first one is for the Tilda and Co. Blog Challenge for last week (yes, I'm a little behing.....so what's your point?), which is to make a guy card! Also the Card Art Shop that my friend Inge designs for is celebrating 4 years, so they have a challenge to use 4 of something on your creation. Obviously I have the card divided into 4 sections!!

Anyway, I started out by stamping Edwin on Wausau bright white cardstock and stamping him in Archival Brilliance Graphite Black ink and colouring him in using my Copic markers. I don't know who makes the dp as it was sent to me by Magnolia and so is the card base, but I believe it's Bazill. I stamped the 'love' sentiment beside him which is from an MFT set and then I doodled around the frame. I matted Edwin and all four quarters of dp onto Cameo Coral to match the roses. I added black glitter brads by Making Memories in each corner, pop dotted Edwin and added some yummy Prima flowers. Of course, it wouldn't be complete without Stardust Stickles on the wings!!! Isn't he precious??

Don't forget that you have until tonight to enter my sketch challenge contest to win a Magnolia stamp!!! Go to this post for details!!!

High Hopes Release Day!!!!

Yaaaaaaaaay!! I just got up (after a little sleep in) and went straight to the High Hopes website and all the new images and sentiments are up!!!! Just go to search the catalogue and put in HOTP for Hot Off the Press and the newest ones start on page 10!!! There are NINE pages of adorable new stamps! I think this is their biggest release ever!!!

Here is another card I made using the new Kanga and Joey stamp! I stamped them on Wausau bright white cardstock using Archival Brilliance Graphite Black ink and coloured them in using my Copics. I used my Nestabilities to cut the image out, emboss it and matt it in the scalloped oval in Cameo Coral. The dp is from the DCWV Nana's Nursery stack and is all glittery! I stamped the sentiment on white using CCoral ink and matted it in a CC strip and then I added two tiny heart punchouts. The coral flowers you see are actually white Primas but I coloured them with a Copic marker to match!! Then I attached them using a heart brad and some button brads and pop dotted the whole focal image!!

I also made this card with the Cute Card Thursday Challenge in mind! It's a new challenge blog that just started this week and this week's is to make a card with a 'New Beginning' in mind. So I thought the new baby card would be a perfect excuse to play with Kanga and Joey!!!

I'm sure I'll have some more samples for you next week! I'm having so much fun playing with these lovely Jungle Animals!! I can see all sorts of great cards and altered items, birthday invitations etc. Head on over to High Hopes and check them out!! Happy shopping and have a wonderful weekend!!!

High Hopes Peekaboo Day 4!!!

I can't believe that I'm posting for a third time today!!! Here is your fourth and final Peekaboo!!! Any guesses?? I'm hoping this one's a little more difficult!! But you won't have to wait much longer........they'll all be up tomorrow!!

And don't forget that you still have the weekend to participate in my sketch challenge for a Magnolia stamp!!! You know you want it!!! Here's the post for details!!

HEY LOOK!!!!

Mindy over at Flamingo Boulevard thinks I have the 'stuff' to be an American Papercrafting Idol!!!!! Well.......a Canadian one, anyway!!!! I'm so chuffed!!! Go check it out!!!!!!

A Good Friend is Easy to Spot!!!!

I hope you are ready for another High Hopes sample from the new line!!!!! 'Cause here it is!!!

What do you think of this sweet GIRAFFE!!?? So cute, right? And what a perfect sentiment to go with him, but there is also 'I'd stick my neck out for you.' to go with him too! Like I said, great sentiments are coming with this release!

I stamped the giraffe on Wausau bright white cardstock using Archival Brilliance Graphite Black ink, which is what I always use for my Copic markers. I coloured him in and cut him out using a square Nestabilities die and embossed around the square too. The scalloped frame is Brocade Blue which matches the DCWV paper perfectly. I love the colours in this dp although I'm not sure which stack it came from. I made the tag out of Groovy Guava using my tag corner punch and I put a BBlue eyelet in the top and some green grosgrain ribbon and tied it with linen thread. I pop dotted the sentiment panel over top of the focal panel.
