MFTeaser #2!!

So the other day I was 'blurfing'.....you know surfin' some of my favourite blogs.....and I happened upon this awesome tutorial for a cute little 'boxy bag' by my friend Jody!! They are just the perfect size for little treat bags at a Christmas dinner table setting....or birthday party or for Halloween treats!!! And when I first looked at her posting with the instructions, I thought it would be difficult, but it was SO easy!!!

I decided to use this soon-to-be-release set by MFT called Christmas Owls by Stephanie Fizer! Don't they look all cute, cuddled up on the wire and so festive with their jaunty toques and Christmas baubles!!?? I stamped them on Wausau bright white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured them in with my Copic markers. I made the box using coordinating Paper Adventures dp and did the scalloped edge using my new scalloped border punch by SU. I made the hole in the top with my horizontal slot punch, added some striped grosgrain ribbon and tossed a little tissue paper in the bag with some chocolate treats!!! The main image is pop dotted onto the bag and I added a little sparkle on the stars and hats with my Atyou Spica pen. Cute, right???

Make sure to come back tomorrow for another MFTeaser and then meet me in the MFT Forum on SCS for the par-tay beginning at 9pm EST, with the new sets going live at 10:30!!!

Have a super stampy day!!!

New Whiff of Joys!!!

The newest from Whiff of Joy will be released on October 4th!!! How exciting!! There will be a few new Charlies and several new Elisabeth Bell images too and just wait 'til ya see them!!! I only have a few in my hands yet, but I made a card for you with one that I do have.....just to tease ya!!! 'Cause I'm like that!! hahaha!!

This is Santa Charlie and he's having fun playing in the sack of presents for all the good girls and boys!!! The card base is a Real Red 6x6 base and the dp is from Winter Bright by Stampin' Up. I added a couple of red brads and punched some stars out of red glitter cardstock. The sentiment is by WOJ too. I coloured Charlie in using my Copic markers and added some sparkle to his hat and coat using Stardust Stickles! Isn't he cute and colourful??

Be sure to pop by the other WOJ DT's blogs (their links are in my sidebar) as they have some amazing creations to share!!!

Come back tomorrow when I announce the winner of this BLOG CANDY!!! You have until Monday, midnight EST to comment for a chance to win!!!

MFTeaser Day 1!!!

Well, good Monday morning!! I hope you had a nice weekend and are all ready to tackle this week! I had a wonderful time in my scrap room yesterday and got quite a bit accomplished!! yay!!

My Favorite Things is having their October New Release Cocktail Party on Wednesday, October 1 from 9-11pm EST. This month there are SIX new sets being released, plus a new storage system for your MFT stamps that you are gonna love!

Head over to the MFT forum on SCS to find out all the details and to find out how YOU can be the next MFT Guest Designer. I'll be there on Wednesday night and I hope to see you there!!

For this morning's samples I have a Kimmie's Two-fer for ya!! I used Jen's card from this week's Oldies Plus Goodies challenge for inspiration. Now, obviously the set I used isn't old, but I was totally inspired by Jen's layout, so I ran with it!!

This new set is called Window Shopping and features our favourite, Who's That Girl?? I used white cardstock for the card base and pulled out the Bella Rose dp by SU and used lots of different coordinating pieces. I paper pieced her dress and coloured the scene in with my Copic markers. There are some fabulous sentiments to go with this set, as you can see! I added some crystal lacquer to the window panes and some sweet ribbon!!

Well, I'm off to work early today, but I hope you get to stamp!!!

Happy B-Day Dragon!!!

This is a BIG day today!!! The new release stamps are UP over at the High Hopes website, so go and check them all out!!

I have a sample for you using an image from the new dragon line, called Warm Wishes!! Isn't he sweet??

One super lucky stamper will win over a DOZEN of the new release stamps including ALL of the new dragon line!!! Is your jaw on the ground?? Well it SHOULD be!!!

Wanna know what the challenge is?? All you have to do is make a birthday creation and include brads in your design!! Simple! So get out your HH stamps and get inky!!

For my design, I used the Cogsmo line of dp by Cosmo Cricket and coloured this cutie in using coordinating colours of Copic markers. I added some ribbon flags on the side and some button brads in the corners. The sentiment is also by HH.

Okay, enough blathering!! Go and check out the new blog and then go run and get your stamps out!!! I can't wait to see what you create!!!

High Hopes Stamps Blog!!!

See you there tomorrow!!!!

Howdy do!!

I'm so proud of myself....I actually was able to join in with this week's MFT Sketch Challenge on the SAME day that it was posted!!! Yesterday morning I had this idea in my head of the image I wanted to use and the dp to go along with it and it didn't take long to come together!

I used Ride 'Em Cowgirl for the image and sentiment and coloured it in using my Copic markers. The dp is by Flair Designs and I used Chocolate chip for the base and Barely Banana for the accents. I added a pop of red with the grosgrain ribbon and dirtied everything up with my Vintage Photo distress ink. Now I also made this card for the Ways to Use It challenge posted yesterday on SCS as well, which was to use a charm. Well, I wanted to use antique copper brads and accents but the only charm I had to go with this creation, was silver. So instead I gave the 'illusion' of a charm, by adding a loop of linen thread under the ribbon and attaching a heart shaped brad through the thread. It matched!!

Well, I'm off to work again this afternoon but I'm excited because it's my last shift this week and I have the whole weekend off!! Yay! I am planning to go to The London Scrapbook Expo tomorrow morning, so be sure to grab me if you see me!! I'll probably be wearing my pink and black MFTDT t-shirt or carrying my MFT tote bag, so I'll be easy to spot!!!

Be sure to stop back here tomorrow for some exciting High Hopes news!!! Heehee!!

Rubber Ducky, You're the One.....

Today is a special day.....CCDesigns is releasing a fun stamp set called My Rubber Ducky!! It features our fun friends Monkey and Bear and they are hangin' out in the bathtub, having a splashing good time!!

Inspiration struck me when this set arrived and I really wanted to make a gift set of some kind. Then I thought, what could be better than a bath set for a new baby!! So on the way home from work one day, I stopped a the dollar store and found some wonderful baby washcloths and towels with little yellow duckies on them! Perfect!!!

So I made this very simple open box from a single sheet of 12x12 cardstock and decorated the sides with strips of duckies floating by. I made a cute little tag using my Marvy punches and pop dotting another little duckie on it. Then I made a coordinating gift card using Teddy and some blue gingham ribbon!! Now....I just have to find someone who's having a baby to give it to!!! haha!! Don't forget, it will be available to purchase tonight at 10pm EST over at All That Scraps!

Did you watch Dancin' last night?? I was surprised that Ted McGinley went home....I think they were way too hard on him the night that he danced. I mean, I love Chloris Leachman, but she needs to go! Don't forget that SURVIVOR starts tonight!!!! Oh yay....I've been waiting for this one. I'll have to catch it after I get home from work!!

Have a stampin' good day!!

You're Snow Sweet!!

I love Riley.....don't you love Riley?? He so stinkin' cute with all the things he does!! I think this one is my favourite so far and I picked him up from Phebe at The Town Scrapper. She has LOTS of Rileys and if you live in the area, you can catch her at The London Scrapbook Expo on Saturday....that's where I'll be too!!

I decided to play long with the Hanna Sketch Challenge this week which was perfect for this image. I pulled out some of my favourite Heidi Grace dp from last year as the colours were exactly what I wanted! I stamped Riley and his pal on Wausau bright white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used my Copics to colour them in.

I used Blue Bayou cardstock for the base and Soft Sky to accent and then added some River Rock stitched grosgrain ribbon. The sentiment is by High Hopes and I used one of my Nestabilities ribbon sliders to stamp it onto and then threaded my ribbon through it. I also added some white snowflakes brads that my friend Crissy sent me a while ago. I finished off the card by adding Stardust Stickles to the snow to make it all shimmery!

I also wanted to point out to you, if you haven't already joined in the fun, that my friend Cammie is having an amazing blog candy challenge to support World Alzheimer's Day! You can win over $800 worth of stampin' goodies....so what are you waiting for? Go check it out!!!

I'm off to work again this afternoon and working late, so I'll be home just in time to catch the end of the Dancing with the Stars results show. I hope I don't miss the Jonas brothers...heehee! No, I really mean it....my daughter has me hooked on them! Did you watch the show last night and see them all dance again?? There are some real contenders there....my faves are Lance Bass, Brooke Burke and ROCCO....mmmm..yum!

Soft and Sweet Melinda....and some Blog Candy!!!

I have some yummy candy to give away, but first, the card!!! I love the Melinda line of Guardian Angels from Whiff of Joy and this one hugging the heart pillow is especially sweet!!!

I wanted the card to be soft and sweet and tender like the image, so I pulled out a tiny flower print from the Nana's Nursery stack by DCWV and also the coordinating polka dot dp. I used Very Vanilla textured cardstock for the square base and the accent cardstock is Cameo Coral. I decided to add a circle of dp to the layout to take a break from all the squares and rectangles and sharp corners.

I used my Copic markers to colour and shade her, added some glitter brads, some shiny new Primas and some satin ribbon. The sentiment is from a wonderful new set by CCDesigns and I pop dotted that and the main image. I added Stardust Stickles to her wings to make her all angelic and glittery and she's done!! Do you like??

Wanna hear something exciting?? No, not the blog candy...something else!!! Beginning on Wednesday of this week, there will be a Whiff of Joy Challenge Blog up and running with fun challenges for all!!! Be sure to check it out tomorrow!!

Now for the blog candy....yaaaaaaaay!!! Katharina was so generous in providing a lovely stamp to share with one lucky winner!! All you have to do is leave a comment here in this post by midnight EST on Monday, September 29th!!! That's it...pretty simple!! Wanna know what you could win?? Melinda blowing Kisses!!! She's so adorable!! I used her on this card, in case you wanted to see what she looks like all stamped up!!

Now I'm off to work all day!! Hope you have a great one!!

The Kim and Tara Challenge ..... #1!!

I hope everyone had a great weekend! The weather was really nice here. I also got to spend a lot of time in my craft room on my day off and I got a LOT accomplished! Yay!!

Do you know what I love most about stamping and blogging and such?? It's the really cool people I've met and the friends that I've made through this craft!! One of those people is Tara from Inking on the Edge!! She is one of my 'invisible friends' as my family likes to call them!! haha!! We've never met but we chat through email quite a bit, we like a lot of the same things, especially stamping related and I just know, that if we ever met in real life and got to hang out, we'd get along famously!! She likes to talk as much as me though, so you'd probably never tear us apart!! haha!!

Anyway, we both got our new Magnolia Fall Stamp Club Kit last week, so we decided to challenge each other to use one of the stamps in it. One of the probelms I am having right now is finding time to use stamps that I don't HAVE to use for Design Team work or special requests or what have you. This time I got to make a card just because I wanted to!! So fun!!

The stamp we chose to use is Tilda gathering mushrooms. I think she has mushrooms and some flowers in her apron there, at least that's how I coloured them. I pulled out my 6x6 Sugared paper pad by Basic Grey because I thought it had some nice autumn colours in it and got busy!!

I stamped Tilda on Wausau bright white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured her in using coordinating Copic markers. I also stamped some of the larger mushrooms from an older release, coloured them and cut them out. I used Purely Pomegranate for the 6x6 base and layered several of the dps and used So Saffron for matting. I added some different Prima flowers with yellow brads, tied some stitched grosgrain ribbon in River Rock across the middle and added the Magnolia sentiment using my large oval punch. I finished her off by adding some highlights with white acrylic paint!!

Ain't she cute?? I really love the way she turned out and the colours are so rich. A perfect fall card!! Thanks so much for the challenge Tara!!!! Let's do it again next month!! Mwah!!!

Treat Yourself Tilda!!!

I've been wanting to post this card for a while now, but I had to wait until it arrived at it's intended destination.....because you know, my Mom reads my blog every day!!! Hahaha! She called me on Thursday to let me know it arrived!! Yay!

Here's another baking Tilda....I think I love her so much because she is holding one of my favourite baked goods.....a chocolate cupcake with icing....yummmmmmmmmm!!!

I stamped her on Wausau bright white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured her using my Copics....my favourite medium!! The dp is a bunch of coordinating papers by My Mind's Eye and that's a die cut piece running across the top. I used my Nestabilities to cut her out and I attached all those Prima hydrangeas with some colourful brads, added the striped grosgrain ribbon and some highlights using white acrylic paint! Oh and that great sentiment at the bottom is one from the recently released Sugarplums Sentiments by CCDesigns.

Sorry this is a quickie post this morning, but I gotta go to work....*sigh*. I'm sure it will be another fun day at the library!!! Toodles!!

Spooky Review!!!

Every Friday on All That Scraps, we do a little review of one of the recently released stamp sets!! This week it's my turn to play with Spooky, Spooky, Spooky!!! I think we should just call it Spooky cubed, 'cause my fingers get tired typing it! *hahaha*

I think this is my favourite set so far that includes Lucky and our little Teddy Bear!!! And anyone who can make a hairy arachnid and a flying rodent look cute, is an awesome artist, in my opinion!!! Christine rocks!! I'm just sayin'.....

Have you been seeing the Designer Gift Bags going around stampin' world lately?? I have and I've been dying to try one out! Well, what better to make than a Halloween treat bag??? So I hopped on over to Cambria's blog and checked out her Designer Bag Tutorial!!

I used Imaginisce dp that I got at The Town Scrapper for the fancy part of the bag and Basic Black cardstock for the bottom. I used my new scalloped border punch from SU on the bottom and tied some purple stitched grosgrain ribbon around it. Then I made 'handles' using my round tab punch, punched holes in them and tied a bunch of sheer ribbon through it. I also made a little circle tag with the Booooo sentiment and the scary eyeballs!!! Then I added Terrified Lucky and all his spooky little friends, pop dotting everyone.

I also made a little 4x4 gift card to go with the bag, using the same line of dp, some black ric rack, more ribbon and a tag! I think the set should be called Cute, Cute, Cute instead of Spooky, Spooky, Spooky!!!

So head on over to the ATS Blog today to check out some other examples with this set!! I can't wait to see what the other DT members did!

OH and some other exciting news!!! If you've been waiting to order some Copics, some ATS stamps, some yummy new dp, wait no longer!!! Here is a message from Christine herself:
My daughter Savannah brought a note home from school today. Her teacher from last year was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. Her teacher this year will be walking in the Chattanooga Susan G. Komen Race for a Cure on September 28th. Her team needs to raise money for this worthy cause.
We at All That Scraps want to give to this worthy cause, as I am sure you do too. We are going to donate 5% of all orders placed today (9/18) and tomorrow (9/19). All items count towards the 5%.
So go shoppin'!!

Well, I'm off to work this afternoon and I gots to work all day on Saturday too.......blech!! But I hope YOU get to do some stampin'....think of me while you're doin' it, will ya???? Thanks!!

Scootin' Around Town!!

Time for another lovely Whiff of Joy design....this time using Oakley on his Scooter!! These are just great boy stamps.....which I hardly ever use!! I'm such a girly-girl that sometimes I forget there are guys in my family....hahaha!! This one would be perfect for my nephew!!

I pulled out some Sassafrass Lass dp that had lots of boy colours and made this simple design. The card base is a 6x6 Chocolate Chip square and I sponge around the entire frame of the dp using Chocolate Chip ink and a sponged to make it look dirty....'cause ya know, boys are dirty...heehee! I used Baja Breeze and Riding Hood Red for matting and coloured Oakley in using my Copic markers.

I actually pop dotted the layer between the BB and the RHR cardstock and threaded some chocolate nylon twill through there and knotted it. I added some SU buttons and brown linen thread and those tickets are made using some acrylic Hero Arts stamps. All done! Doesn't he look cool???

Did you know that Bev from the WOJ DT is giving away some lovely blog candy right now?? Head on over there to see what she's got!!!
I've got the day off today and LOTS to do!! Hope you have a good one!!

Simply Sweet Tilda!!

Two posts in one day!! Woohoo!! It seems like SO long since I've been able to join in a Splitcoast Sketch Challenge, so I decided to hop to it this morning and do #194!! The sketch is really a nice simple one with blocking of coordinating dp. Well, I just happen to have received my first SU order from the new catalogue and it included the Washington Apple dp and some yummy Riding Hood Red taffeta ribbon!!!

I stamped Pie Baking Tilda on Wausau bright white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and of course I used my handy, dandy Copic markers to colour and shade her! I think you can figure the rest out for yourself....it's pretty self explanatory!! I used Riding Hood Red for the base, So Saffron for matting and also some Pumpkie Pie. I added Prima flowers with a glitter bradd and the sentiment is by MFT!!

Just thought I would share this quick card with you and maybe you can join in the SCS sketch challenge too!!! Hmmmm...I think it may be lunchtime as my tummy is a rumblin'!! I lose all track of time in my craft room!!! Oh well!!!

ATS Colour Challenge!!!

This week over at All That Scraps, the challenge is a colour one!! Now normally I have a tough time with these, but this colour combo is FAN-tastic and I will SO use it again!!!

The colour combination is Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red and Kraft, so I thought, what a nice holiday combo!! So I pulled out my Reindeer Games stamp set and played with Rudolph!!

I wanted to create a very simple design that I could replicate quickly if need be (translate....if I run out of time and need a bunch of cards come December), so I started with a Kraft base. I stamped the skating Rudolph on Wasau bright white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured them in with my coordinating Copic markers.

I used a couple of different sentiments....love the different fonts on the sentiments in this set. I used some buttons on one with some grosgrain ribbon and a strip of Baja Breeze to accent and on the other I stamped a snowflake repeatedly across the top and used red gingham ribbon. So quick and simple....and cute!!

Be sure to stop over at the ATS Blog later today and you can check out the samples made for this challenge by other DT members. Then you can go ahead and join in the fun!!!

Well, I don't work until 5pm today, so I'm hoping to get a bunch of stampin' done! I have a lot of samples to work on for October releases!! Yesterday was a happy mail day with new CCDesigns stamps AND new High Hopes stamps both arriving!!! Oh the smell of rubber is in the air!!! *sniff, sniff* Can ya smell it!!??

OH!! And who saw Big Brother last night??? Yeeehaaaaaw!! Out of 10 seasons, this is the first year that the guy I wanted to win, ACTUALLY WON!! I'm so glad for Dan!! He is a Catholic school teacher and high school football coach and he played a very smart game!!!

Have a super stampin' day!!!

Magnolia Halloween!!!!

Here is the first of three Magnolia Halloween cards that I have designed and are winging their way to Sweden as we speak....type...whatever!!! Last week I received a DT package with several Halloween Tildas and accessory stamps along with cardstock, designer papers and embellishments, so I whipped up all three of them today and mailed them off after work!! Yes, it was a rather productive morning!!

I didn't have to work until 2pm....actually it was supposed to be my day off but I had to go in for a meeting, so I got up and went to work in my craft room. This particular card is the least 'Halloween-ish' of the three. I wanted this one to have more of a softer, fallish look rather than spooky. KWIM??

I stamped Tilda with her trick or treat pumpkin on Wausau bright white cardstock using Memento ink and coloured her in using my Copic markers. Like I said, the cardstock and dp were sent to me by Magnolia so I have no idea who makes it. I did add some Always Artichoke and So Saffron for matting. The ribbon and Primas were sent by them too, and I attached them to the card using SU brads. The sentiment is from Lizzie Anne Designs and I finished it off by adding some highlights using white acrylic paint.

I'll share the other two spooktacular Tildas over the next week or so. Gotta spread 'em out, right??

I'm off to work all day today and then Emileigh are settling in to watch the finale of Big Brother tonight!!! Dan's gotta win....who's with me???
