I Got Some Kikis!!!

Yesterday I went to the mailbox to find some lovely little Kikis in there!! Of course I had to let them out right away...they were suffocating in that envelope!! I stamped them out immediately and opened up my new package of Ooh La La papers and went to town!!

I stamped Kiki on Neenah white cardstock and coloured her in with the following Copic markers: E00, R20, E55, R17, E25, E31, BG11, BG15, R12 and E30. The card base is Kraft cardstock and I matted with Bazzill Bling rosey cardstock behind the patterned paper and Blush Blossom for Kiki. I added some sheer green polka dotted ribbon and pop dotted Kiki. I stamped a birthday sentiment on the bottom and finished it off by adding a trio of green half pearls.

Today we are heading to Toronto to take Emileigh and her BFF Kelsey shopping at the Eatons Centre. We need to do some serious back to school shopping!! We have to hit Hollister and Abercrombie for sure!! Me, I`ll be happy with one of the fabulous smoothies you can get in the food court there, because you know they don`t have any ink or rubber there!

Hope you have a fabulous Saturday! Stamp something special!!

A Pink-Haired Junebug!!

This Junebug fairy image by CCDesigns was sitting on my craft table this morning, just beggin' me to colour her! So I obliged. I also had this scrap of Dream Street patterned paper sitting there too and I just adore the colour combo, so I paired them up!

I pulled out the following Copic markers: E00, R20, BG000, G20, R81 and R85 and coloured her up! I think she looks rather sassy with her pink hairdo, don't you?? She reminds me of Frenchy in the movie Grease when she was at hair school. Heehee!

The card base is Swiss Dotted Bazzill cardstock and the rest of the cardstock is Bazzill as well. I added some satin ribbon and attached a cluster of Prima flowers with a sparkly green brad. I pop dotted my little fairy and added some Diamond stickles to dress her up!!

Well, I am off work for the next several days and I'm looking forward to getting a lot done, both around the house AND in my craft room!! Happy stampin'!!

Inchin' Along......

Hey there, inky stampers!!! I know, I know....it's been a couple of days since I posted. But I'm super busy, I swear!! I'm not just takin' a holiday or anything! I'm working on some big stuff! And that's all I'm sayin'!!

I'm in for a good week though and I hope to get a lot done this week. I only work Monday and Tuesday and then I have FIVE whole days off!! Woohoo! I took a couple of holiday days this week and next since it will be back to school for Emileigh soon and I thought we needed to do some mother/daughter bonding and back to school shopping!! yaaaaaaaaaaay!!

Anyhoo, I did get to play with this fun Lizzie Anne Designs snail image from their new set, Cute as a Bug! And it really is! The card base is Chocolate Chip and the paper is some scrap that I had on my craft table. I used my Copic markers in: G20, B12 and G05 and then shaded the ground with N0. I used my Nesties to cut him out and emboss him and added a trio of sparkly brads in the corner. I pop dotted everything and then added some lovely rick rack along the bottom!!

Have a super Monday, stampers!!

Bringin' You Sunshine!!

Another quickie post ladies.....I'm busily preparing for tonight's Copic class and remembered that I hadn't posted my other card for the class!! Silly me!! Well here she is!!

It's super hot and sunshiney here, so this card reflects the day perfectly! It's the summer Anya stamp from The Greeting Farm! She's just so sassy and cute! I used all Bazzill cardstock and some sweet Doodlebug patterned paper. I zipped up the pink colour by adding some Bazzill flowers and attaching them with big brads! I also dressed it up a little by using my Apron Lace border punch along the bottom.

The Copic markers I used are: E00, YR20, YR21, G20, R83, R85 and since the sunglasses didn't come out solid black, I went over the area with W7.

Well, I'd better get back to it!! Hope you have a wonderfully sunshiney weekend!!

Don't Bug Me....I'm Stamping!

First off, the winner of my blog candy super awesome sentiment set is......Carrie!! Congratulations! Be sure to email me with your mailing address and I'll get that out to you!

This is going to be another quick post as I'm off early to work again! And on a Wednesday even! The nerve of those people! *giggle*

This card was made using one of the Buggawumps stamps that I scooped up at the stamp convention in Novi. So cute! I used this Doodlebug paper with all the lovely purples and the cardstock is all from Bazzill. I pop dotted EVERYTHING, added some frilly ribbon, used my Nesties and added some buttons. My favourite part is the sentiment! I need to enlarge it and frame it and hang it on my craft room wall!! Who else needs one??

So who saw Big Brother last night?? Good grief, what drama! I can't stand that Chima woman....what a nasty piece of work and I'm SO glad they kicked her off the show. She already got away with too much. And now she doesn't get a vote at the end of the season....I hope they give that vote to America!!! Jeff and Jordan have GOT to win!!!

Okay.........hi ho, hi ho...it's off to work I go!!! Happy stampin'!!

Sad News.....

Today is a sad day for me as I have officially stepped down as the Design Team Coordinator and as a Design Team Member for High Hopes Rubber Stamps. It was an absolutely agonizing decision for me to make, but one that I know was the right decision for me.

I have spent almost three years with this company and I love Tina and Bethany dearly. It's been a wonderful experience and I have grown so much, both as a creator/designer and as a person.

What I am going to miss most of all, is the love and support of my fellow Divas....not that I won't still have their love and support, but I will miss chatting with them, creating with them and sharing our love for Crissy's designs on a weekly basis. They are such a talented bunch of gals!!

I'm so sad today, but so excited to see what tomorrow may bring!

Two Challenges....Yay Me!!!

As you probably know, I've had less and less time lately to play in my craft room. Summer is always a busy time, especially with covering shifts at work for the lucky gals who are on holiday!! Later on this month though, I'm going to be taking a few days off myself, so hopefully I can catch up a little bit!!

Anyhoooo, with all the busyness...I was so proud of myself when I finished this card this morning and I did two SCS challenges with it!!! Yay me!!

The Limited Supplies challenge for today is to make a card with a summer actitivy theme...well, this sweet TGF image of a little girl singing and playing music in the sunshine fits, I think! Also this week's Sketch Challenge was perfect too!!

So I stamped the image, which I scooped up at The Town Scrapper, on Neenah smooth cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured her in with my Copic markers to coordinate with this awesome My Mind's Eye paper. The markers I used are: E00, E11, R20, E21, E25, E27, E29, E33, YR12, YR14 and YR09.

The card base is Chocolate Chip with Tangerine Tango and Apricot Appeal for matting. I added some satin ribbon and attached some flowers with a sparkle brad. The finishing touch was to sparkle up the center of the flower in her hair with my Spica gel pen.

Well, I'm off to work again today and tomorrow...yuck! But I'll be back on Monday with something new!! Have a stampin' good weekend!!!

Heard You Caught a Bug.....

Well, it was another busy weekend here at our house. Isn't that the way it is in the summertime? The week draaaaaags by and the clocks seem to run twice as fast on the weekends. What's with that, anyway??

Today's card features a stamp set that I had yet to ink up...can you imagine? It's called Get Well Critters by Cookie Crumb Designs.

I stamped the jar and the bug and then stamped the bug again separately. I coloured them, then cut out the one bug and pop dotted it on the other. The card base is Blue Bayou with October Afternoon dp. I used my Nesties to make the main layer and added the sentiment and some colourful buttons!! I finished it off by adding lots of Stardust Stickles on her little wings. Had to dress up our poor little bug!! Heehee!! In case anyone wants to know, the Copics I used are: BG11, NO and R21. Easy peasy!! Such a cute stamp set to put a smile on someone's face!!

Well, I'm off to work the afternoon/evening shift at the library, then working all day tomorrow too. Ugh. But I'll be back later in the week!! TTFN!! Ta ta for now!

Cute as a Bug!!

Yesterday was a hoot and a half!! Andrea and I met up in London and headed to Petrolia to go visit our pal Phebe! We walked in to the store and saw our friend Judy there....hi Judy!! *wave* We must have all had the same idea at the same time...shop for stamps at Phebe's!!! haha! Well, we all got some awesome deals...great paper, some embellishments and of course, some awesome new rubbah!!! I'll try to work with something this weekend to show you! We also zipped next door to Actor's for some lunch and Ellen joined us....hey Ellen!!! We always have a ball when we get together....talking about stamps and eating...what could be better?

Today's card features some of my fave colours, purples and turquoise and who doesn't love butterflies! This card uses the new set Cute as a Bug by Lizzie Anne Designs. I stamped the image on Wausau and used my Nesties to cut out and emboss it. Then I used my Copic markers to coordinate with the patterned papers. The cardstock is a green Bazzill base in A2 size and I also used a light blue for the scalloped layer. I added a couple of strips of the dp in different lengths, added some buttons (don'tcha love the sparkly one?) threaded with Scrapper's Floss and added the sentiment. I pop dotted everything and added sparkle to the butterfly's wings using my Stardust Sakura gel pen.

Well, I'm off to work all day today...blech. It's just not right on a Saturday, don't you agree??

Forest Friends!

Good morning, stampers!! I hope you aren't missing me too much! hehe! I have been taking a bit of time off this week to try and get some other things done. We hit the end of July and I realized that the summer is half over! Yikes!! So I haven't been pressuring myself to post every day. I feel guilty, but I'm getting over it. I mean, nobody wants to see my stuff every day, right?

Anyway, today I am showing you a card that I designed for the Copic Class that Andrea and I are teaching at Scrappin' Great Deals on Friday, August 21st. There are only 4 spots left, so if you'd like to join us, be sure to call Sheila at the store, but if you can't make it, you can always preorder a class kit!

Our focus for this month's class are the wonderful stamps from The Greeting Farm that are perfect for Copic colouring! For this first card, I used the sweet deer from Forest Friends. Isn't she precious? I used the new Bazzill Dotted Swiss cardstock for the 6x6 card base and Bazzill Bling for the matting. The patterned paper that I used is from My Mind's Eye and I just love the sentiment!!

Anyhoo, I'm off to work again today but then I've got tomorrow off. Andrea and I are taking a trip around the countryside to do some stamp shopping....no, we can never get enough! Haha!!

Reach for the Stars!!!

Is this the cutest BUG or what??? And how about that sentiment??? I'll tell you all about them in a minute!

Firstly, this was a long weekend here in Canada but it FLEW right by!! I was SUPER busy and it's time to go back to work already!!! Sheesh!!

I mentioned that I was going to Novi, Michigan on Saturday to a stamp convention....well, what a day!! We had a super fun time! I went with my pals Andrea, Sheila and Rose! We shopped our little hearts out, let me tell ya!! We were motorin' all day, until our arms just about fell off from carryin' all our bags!!

We arrived in Novi at the show around 10am when they opened and we no sooner got in the gate than this lady came up to me and said, 'Are you Kimmie Reid?? I'm Lindabella!!!' Well, of course I knew who she was and we squealed and hugged and laughed! SO much fun!! We had to take a couple of pictures together and I think you can tell that we get along like a house on fire!!!

Then Andrea and I kept zippin' around the hall and found a great place to purchase Neenah smooth cardstock and we even had a coupon!!! Well, then we weaseled the bus driver into driving us down the road a piece to the Archiver's store!! Well, I've never been there and it was FUN-tastic!! I picked up a few things, mostly on sale AND we had a coupon too!! Then we ran across the road and had a quick lunch at Boston Market.

Rose is such a hoot and will do just about anything, and she asked the people at Boston Market to loan us a phone book and she called a cab!! That was the only time we really sat all day, waiting for the cab! So when he showed up, he took us down the road to a giant Joanne's and we scooped up some more deals there. Well, stupid me, I bought 4 gigantic DCWV pads of paper and they were HEAVY!!! My shoulders still aren't the same.

After Joanne's we booted it across the parking lot to a DWS Shoe store and let's just say, between the 4 of us we came out with NINE pairs of shoes!!! And 4 of them were one person's....right Sheila???!! The cabbie picked us up right there and we went back to the stamp show.

Well, the minute we walked in, I ran right into my pal PAULA!!!! We were on a DT together at one point and we've chatted by email only until now and we finally got to meet!! SO much fun!! Love her and her fancy art to pieces....even though I am totalllllly jealous!! Heehee!!! And I have to apologize for this picture....my hair is a disaster as we'd been literally running from store to store and it was super windy out. I'm afraid I didn't make my best impression on Paula.

What a super day!! It was awesome!! And I can't wait to do it all again!!

Okay, so the card!! Right, I forgot about that!! There was this awesome booth at the show and the company is called Buggawumps! There were so many cute bug stamps and funny sentiments, I ended up shopping there twice!! Heehee!! Don'tcha love him!???

Anyhoo, I'm off to work and don't forget.....Reach for the Stars....It'll keep your Boobs from Falling!!! Baaaaaaahahahaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

It's Release Day!!!!

Well, my sassy little stampers.....it's release day over at CCDesigns!!! I know you are just dying to get your inky little fingers on these new images....especially these PIXIES!!!!

Today's card features Heidi Among the Flowers and I just wanna pinch her little cheeks, don't you? I stamped her on Neenah smooth cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured her with my handy dandy.............COPICS!!! I used colours that would coordinate with this awesome Chloe's Closet patterned paper by Making Memories. The colours I used are: E00, R20, E50, E51, YR21, YG03, B93, B95, B97, YR14, YR18 and G20.

The card base is a 6x6 Brocade Blue square card with some soft yellow Bazzill cardstock for matting. The layout is a 'Kimmie Original', so feel free to use it!! I added some wide grosgrain ribbon across the middle and pop dotted the main layer. I attached some Prima hydrangea flowers using the Chloe's Closet fabric brads. Aren't they super delicious??

So I hope you can join us at the release party tonight, over at the All That Scraps Forum. I'll be there around 8pm with the sets going live at 10pm EST.

I'll also be back here later today with a post and some pics about my 'Adventures in Novi'!! So fun!!

High Hopes Challenge #42!!

Good morning super stampers!!! Sorry I've been MIA the last couple of days but I've been super busy with work....AND yesterday I hopped on a bus at 6:30am and went to a Stamp Convention with my pals!! I had SO much fun, bought a LOT of stuff (not just stamps) and met some amazingly super talented gals that I have only ever 'met' online!! It was a fantastic day and I'll have stories and photos to share soon!!

On to today's challenge!! This week our hostess is the always fabulous Jeanne and she has called it Go for the Gold!!! She would like you to use gold somewhere in your design....so use gold cardstock, patterned paper, embellishments etc. Just show us some gold!!

For my card, I've been itchin' to play with this new Herald Angel stamp for ages....so I inked her up and stamped her on Neenah cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The patterned papers I used are from the Imaginisce Candy Cane Lane line from last year (as I haven't purchased any new Christmas papers for this year....yet). The layout I used is from this week's Friday Sketchers challenge...isn't it perfect??

I coloured her in with my Copic markers and here are the numbers I used: E00, E11, R20, B91, E42, E43, E30, YG93, YR21 and YR23. I also used E30 around the embossed frame of the main layer.

The card base is a 6x6 square of Cranberry Crisp with Old Olive for matting. I used my Apron Lace Fiskars border punch on the middle strip, added some gold cording and tied it in a bow. I added some Prima poinsettias with gold brads and some more brads in each corner. I attached a little flag tag with the sentiment and pop dotted everything. Then I decided that my angel needed to sparkle a little bit so I painted her stars and wings with Gold Glimmer Shimmerz. Isn't she sweet???

Now hop on over to the HH Blog and check out all the eye candy that the design team has left ya! Then be sure to join in the challenge and have a chance to win some rubber goodness!

Well, I'm going to go play with all my new schtuff!!! Everyone else is still asleep in my house, so hopefully I can get a few things done before they get their lazy butts outta bed!! Have a stampin' good Sunday!!!
